12/2011: CMC Consulting Group announces the acquisition of the Italian company Sigmar by the French group Fareva 

"This transaction allows us to strengthen our market position in Italy, to diversify the range of our formulations and to acquire new clients”, said Bruno de Bortoli, country managing director of Istituto De Angeli (IDA), the Italian subsidiary of Fareva SA. IDA,  based near Florence, specializes in the manufacture of tablets, suppositories and non-sterile liquids.

"Our aim", De Bortoli explained, “is to become a one-stop shop  for our clients. We want to be their single source for contract manufacturing of  pharmaceuticals, OTC and cosmetics. To achieve this goal, we are working with CMC Consulting to identify and  evaluate other potential Italian acquisitions. We have a strong parthership with CMC".

Gabriele Brambilla, Managing Partner of CMC Consulting offices in Milan and Boston, said he was glad to work with De Bortoli and Bernhard Fraisse, CEO of Fareva SA,  to complete the transaction.

"This acquisition is an excellent move for both companies", said Brambilla. "Fareva will strengthen its contract manufacturing capabilities in food supplements and cosmetics in southern Europe, and the move will make the Italian division of Fareva one of the group's largest worldwide in terms of revenues".

Sigmar specializes in the manufacture and custom packaging of medicines and cosmetics, over-the-counter drugs and dietary supplements. The company is owned by the Bianchi family. With 112 employees and € 15.9 million in revenues in 2010, Sigmar produces nearly 240 million units a year, mostly powder sachets, pills, creams, gels, bottles and sprays.
